Perhaps Byron’s earliest entry in his journal. His dedication and explanation is seen on the right-side page, where Byron details his love for the craft of artistic expression. He writes, “I also realize that unless I am above average, I will never reap any financial benefit from my artistic labor, but the intangible pleasure of the expression of life will more than equal my labor.”
